According to a report by the media outlet Infobae, the Brazilian company BRF GmbH, a subsidiary of BRF, completed the purchase of one of Henan Best Food's properties, a company that is a subsidiary of OSI Group. This purchase will transfer ownership of a food processing plant located in the People's Republic of China, from Henan Best Food to the Brazilian company.

This purchase had been under negotiation since November 2024, but it was not until Wednesday, April 30, 2025, that the transaction was finalized, with BRF making a payment of 43 million dollars to the Chinese company.

The transaction had to wait until the last day of April 2025 to be finalized due to its being subject to a verification process of the conditions precedent that apply to transactions of this nature. Some of these processes included the corporate restructuring of the assets involved in the plant and approval by the regulatory authorities in the area.

According to BRF, this new acquisition of the food processing plant will allow the company to solidify its presence in the People's Republic of China and contribute to its development, enabling it to effectively serve customers throughout Asia.

The plant acquired by BRF has a food processing capacity of 28,000 tons per year, divided into two processing lines, but with the possibility of expanding to a total of four.

This expansion is expected to require an investment of at least 36 million dollars, which would increase the production capacity to 60,000 tons per year, more than double the current capacity. This would help generate at least 850 jobs at the plant.
