China: the main buyer of Uruguayan beef

Over the years, the records of the exchange of goods and services between Uruguay and the People's Republic of China (PRC) have shown a positive balance of trade. Uruguay's exports in general, for the month of February of this year, showed year-on-year growth of 51%, according to data published by Uruguay XXI, an agency that promotes the country's exports, investments, and image.

Beef accounted for the largest share of the increase in February, followed by dairy products, rice, wheat, cellulose, vehicles, barley, and timber. China remained the main buyer of meat, with 59% of exports in February. Indeed, February 2022 presented an increase of 115% compared to February the previous year.
