Since resuming ties, China and Nicaragua have expanded cooperation in infrastructure, energy, health, education, telecommunications, the environment, and trade. According to Ambassador Chen, the new facility will enhance the coordination of joint initiatives and contribute to Nicaragua’s socioeconomic development.
Diplomatic relations between China and Nicaragua were initially established in 1985, suspended in 1990, and officially restored in 2021 following Nicaragua’s decision to cut ties with Taiwan.
