In April 2023, Jetour will market two gasoline-powered SUVs imported from China. By the end of the year, it will introduce a hybrid unit and in 2024 it will invest in the plant for combustion and electric vehicles. The brand is currently lobbying with different governments - among them Aguascalientes and Guanajuato - to define an investment that could reach 1 billion dollars. This new Chinese automaker arriving in Mexico was born in 2018 supported by the technology of the Chery Group and reaches the market to break the paradigm that what is "made in China is of dubious quality.”

The factory's announcement to produce combustion and electric vehicles, comes in the context of the nearshoring boom and the expansion of Chinese companies in the Mexican market, due to the lack of inventory after the shortage of chips and other components. It would therefore join the list of new Chinese manufactures that already operate or soon will, such as JAC, Chirey, SEV, and BYD. Jetour, in alliance with LDR Solutions, announced that it will work with suppliers such as CATL, the largest manufacturer of batteries for electric cars in the world, allowing it to consolidate its presence in Mexico.
