The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is an annual event held in the People's Republic of China to enable traders from all over the world to promote their products in order to establish trade in the Asian's country's market. The eighth version of the Expo took place in Shanghai, on November 5 - 10 this year. The Expo is an opportunity for Latin American and Caribbean countries to open new export markets for traditional or innovative products. Furthermore, the most recent event was based on the recognition of exports as an important part of the participating countries' post-pandemic economic recovery.

The eighth IICE included the participation of exhibitors from 127 countries around the world, including Argentina, Colombia, and Cuba. Argentina, with its Consorcio de Bodegas de Alturas de Argentina, stood out for its wines, and intends to increase the number of cases of wine exported to China beyond the 2,800 registered the previous year. Colombian exhibitors included coffee traders, who took advantage of their participation to promote Arabica coffee as the South American country's flagship product. Finally, Cuba, in addition to sponsoring traditional products such as rum, cigars, and sugar cane, also exhibited medical, educational, and pharmaceutical technologies.
