On April 5th, the Taiwanese charity organization Cao Zhong Zhi Foundation, donated assistive devices for people with physical disabilities in Haiti. This donation was made through the US "Food for the Poor" organization.
A total of 175 wheelchairs, 280 walkers and four commode chairs were given to the Haitian people. Amino Chi, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, commented that this act of charity was another example of the Taiwan government playing a very important and active role in contributing to the international community. President of Food for the Poor, Edward Raine, also expressed his appreciation to the Cao Zhong Zhi Foundation and the Taiwanese government for supporting humanitarian aid projects.
