The Opening Ceremony of the Innovative China-Grenada Youth Friendship Basketball Court was held on April 8th. The event was held at the Youth Center in Grand Anse, St. George's, and was attended by various diplomatic representatives such as the Chinese Ambassador. Wei Hongtian, the Minister of Infrastructure Development of Grenada, and the Minister of Sports, the Minister of Relations, among others.
This innovation project was funded by the Chinese Embassy in Grenada, and took approximately five weeks to complete. Wei Hongtian, noted that this planning is another gift from the Chinese government to the youth of Grenada, considering that China hosted the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. This spirit shows that sport is a form of self-expression and a symbol of friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
