Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in El Salvador announces construction of new stadium

Yamil Bukele, president of INDES, El Salvador's National Sports Institute, reported on the progress of the construction of the new National Stadium, with funds from the People's Republic of China (PRC). The new National Stadium will seat 50,000 people and will be equipped with state-of-the-art communications technology. It will also be used for artistic activities.

Yamil mentioned that special equipment is currently being dismantled and removed from the Military School site, and that this will take about two weeks. Subsequently, the military training center facilities will be demolished and the construction phase is expected to start in September 2022.
