According to an article by Prensa Latina, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, held a bilateral meeting with Qiu Xiaoqi, China’s Special Representative for Latin American Affairs, where they discussed topics related to the bilateral relations between both nations.

Regarding this meeting, through his profile on the social network X, Minister Rodríguez commented that he had “a fruitful meeting with Ambassador Qiu Xiaoqi, China’s Special Representative for Latin American Affairs.”

According to Minister Rodríguez, this meeting took place as a result of the agreements reached between the presidents of Cuba and the People’s Republic of China, which seek the development of a Cuba-China Community of Shared Future, for which reason Representative Xiaoqi visited Cuba on a working visit with that purpose.

It is worth mentioning that, within the framework of the “China-CELAC Forum,” Minister Rodríguez served as his nation’s representative and attended the fourth ministerial meeting of this forum between China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

At this event, held in May, Minister Rodríguez highlighted the importance of the relationship between China and Cuba, pointing out its great strategic relevance.

He also recalled that this year, 2025, Cuba and the People’s Republic of China celebrate 65 years of diplomatic relations and bilateral cooperation, during which collaborations between the two governments, joint projects, and exchanges between the communist parties of both nations have taken place.
