According to an article by On Cuba News, Cuba and the People's Republic of China held a high-level bilateral meeting, during which issues related to biotechnology and infrastructure development were addressed, with the presence of Miguel Díaz-Canel, Qiu Xiaoqi, and Bruno Rodríguez.

Regarding this meeting, which took place at the El Laguito protocol hall in Havana, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, stated that it was a productive encounter.

Rodríguez also expressed that there should be greater bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as biotechnology, infrastructure development, and mutual tourism.

For his part, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel asserted that relations between the two countries are in a positive phase, with a stronger relationship, although he noted that further deepening is necessary.

Meanwhile, the Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Latin American Affairs, Qiu Xiaoqi, emphasized that his visit to Cuba, which has lasted over ten days, has yielded positive results for the bilateral relationship and highlighted the importance of exchanges with Cuban authorities.

Qiu Xiaoqi also mentioned that the People's Republic of China values its bilateral relations with Cuba and will continue to offer assistance and support to the Caribbean nation.

He added that his mission in Cuba aims to increase understanding of the country's current situation, with the goal of positively advancing bilateral relations.

He also pointed out that the implementation of agreements reached during the presidential meeting between the two countries, held in Moscow in May, is still pending.

It is worth noting that the two nations have maintained diplomatic relations for 65 years and have developed their bilateral ties based on political alignment between their governments.

Last but not least, it is important to highlight that China has contributed to Cuba’s development through lines of credit, food donations, medical supplies, as well as financial and technical support for the energy transition, particularly in the field of solar energy. However, there is not yet a high level of trade exchange between the two nations.
