China and Cuba have signed an investment agreement to develop a renewable energy project, including the installation of seven 5-megawatt photovoltaic parks across six Cuban provinces. The agreement was formalized by the Chinese ambassador to Havana, Hua Xin, and Cuba's First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Carlos Luis Jorge, emphasizing China's technological support to enhance Cuba's energy security.

The components required for assembling the solar plants will be shipped to the island within seven months. This project is expected to save Cuba up to 18,000 tons of fuel annually, equivalent to 7 million USD, supporting the country's energy transition and economic development.
