Chile and China have taken a new step in strengthening their strategic cooperation in sustainable transportation by reinforcing their joint commitment to electric mobility and promoting gender inclusion. The initiative was reaffirmed through the CABAL Network, a regional platform that fosters dialogue and collaboration on gender, science, technology, and innovation.

The collaboration seeks to expand opportunities for women in the electric mobility sector, supporting training, research, and public policy development across Latin America. During a recent dialogue session, representatives from both countries highlighted the importance of integrating a gender perspective into technological transitions, particularly in the growing electric vehicle (EV) market.

Chile, with its ambitious decarbonization goals and increasing focus on electromobility, sees China as a key partner in achieving these objectives. China, for its part, continues to support knowledge exchange and technical assistance through bilateral and multilateral mechanisms, including South-South cooperation frameworks.

The initiative with the CABAL Network is part of broader efforts to ensure that the transition to green energy and mobility is inclusive and equitable. The partnership includes actions aimed at reducing gender gaps in science and engineering fields, fostering women’s leadership in innovation, and promoting inclusive entrepreneurship in emerging industries.

Both countries emphasized that electromobility is not only a technological issue but also a social one, where collaboration, inclusion, and long-term vision are essential for building resilient and sustainable societies.
