JBS, the world's largest meat producer, created a new business unit to rent electric trucks to distribute refrigerated cargo to retail. This initiative will support the company in its plan to reduce carbon emissions, as well as reduce logistics costs in the medium and long term.

The new JBS company, called No Carbon, is already in service with a fleet of 31 100% electric urban cargo vehicles (UCCVs). Initially, they are being leased to carriers that provide services to JBS; however, the idea is to expand operations in the future to other companies interested in emission-free transportation.

The vehicles, produced by the Chinese company Jac Motors, are already in operation, distributing Friboi, Seara, and Swift brand products. These vehicles will replace part of the diesel trucks currently used by the JBS Group's logistics service providers. The CUVs are equipped with refrigerated chassis units that can transport up to 4 tons of refrigerated and frozen cargo. The electric fleet is serving the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Distrito Federal, where it is provided with technical assistance from the car manufacturer, and charging points at JBS distribution centers.
