According to an article by the media outlet El Deber, the Consulate of the People's Republic of China in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, together with the city's Journalists' Association, organized a bilateral meeting between Bolivian and Chinese journalists.

Specifically, the event included the participation of at least 20 professionals in social communication and journalism from the Latin American country, who met with graduates in the same field from the People's Republic of China.

The event was led by the Consul of the Asian country in Bolivia, Wang Huijun, and allowed for the exchange of journalistic knowledge and experience between both nations, as well as dialogue among regional leaders of media platforms.

In this regard, Consul Huijun stated that this bilateral meeting of the journalistic sector of both nations creates a joint space to promote work based on responsibility and a commitment to the communities of both countries. She also expressed that this space should encourage the organization of more events of this kind to foster “high-quality exchanges.”

It was reported that, as part of this bilateral meeting, Bolivian journalists learned about how the news agency of the People's Republic of China, Xinhua, operates. They were instructed on how to find news, images, videos, and other media materials, with reports and updates not only from China but also from the other 142 countries where the agency has correspondents.

On the side of the People's Republic of China, journalist He Bei from China Global Television Network (CGTN) gave a presentation explaining how the video platform All Media Service Platform (AMSP) works. This platform allows various media outlets around the world to share reports, audiovisual content, and newscasts. He also noted that the platform facilitates the exchange of material and collaborative news production in a more accessible way.

Additionally, speaking virtually from Mexico, the general director of the magazine China Hoy, Miao Ye, explained that the publication is issued monthly and focuses on sharing and informing about Chinese traditions and cultures. He also mentioned that the magazine aims to build cooperation with various national and international media to exchange informational content related to cultural matters.

For his part, the consulate’s social media advisor, Alejandro Canedo, shared his experience during his visit to the People's Republic of China and highlighted the use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence to monitor various media outlets and to produce content that contributes to news reporting.

Last but not least, the head of the Journalists’ Association of Santa Cruz, Marco Curi, emphasized the importance of holding such events, which promote bilateral meetings that “facilitate reflection on the work of the press and cultural exchange.” Likewise, the various attendees of the event highlighted the importance of continuing to enable spaces of this nature.
