Ecuador's Health Minister, Ximena Garzón, is part of the delegation accompanying President Guillermo Lasso on his trip to China during the first weeks of February for the opening of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. The Ecuadorian minister will attend various meetings aimed at strengthening international cooperation, particularly in the area of public health.
She also participated in meetings with representatives of Sinovac Life Science Co. Ltd. to discuss issues related to the acquisition and purchase of vaccines against COVID-19, as well as delivery dates and the possibility of generating cooperation for the production and clinical trials of these vaccines in the South American country. The Minister is also scheduled to meet with Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd. (AVIC), a Chinese consortium that manufactures aircrafts, to help them with hospital equipment and ambulances.
