According to an official statement from the Bolivian government, the ambassador of the Andean country to the People's Republic of China, Hugo Siles, stated that efforts are currently underway to expand the catalog of products exported to the Asian nation.

It has been reported that the products included in this export process are various bovine by-products, such as leather, as well as cotton, pork, and chicken.

In this regard, Ambassador Hugo Siles indicated that Bolivia is working to finalize the export of these products to the Chinese market through the signing of new protocols that would authorize their shipment.

He also noted that this initiative is being carried out under the instructions of Bolivia’s president, Luis Arce, who has expressed the need to broaden the catalog of Bolivian products exported to the Asian country.

Similarly, Ambassador Siles highlighted that bilateral relations with the People's Republic of China are currently developing and that the 40 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations have been reaffirmed in recent years.

He also emphasized that bilateral cooperation between Bolivia and the People's Republic of China is currently focused on technology transfer, the development of cross-border trade, the increase of cultural exchanges, and the potential collaboration in building a bi-oceanic railway corridor.

It is worth mentioning that, in March of the current year 2025, in the city of La Paz, both nations signed a phytosanitary protocol authorizing the export of sorghum from the Andean country to China.

Last but not least, it is important to note that Ambassador Siles's remarks were made during the celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, an event attended by high-level officials from both nations and held in the city of Beijing.
